What is QuickStart UK?

How do I get my Bank Account number?

For many working travellers in the UK, opening a bank account is almost impossible.
Thanks to our special partnership with NatWest QuickStart UK will prepare all documentation to ensure you get your bank account as soon as possible. The Bank Account will be set up within 2 days of applying. All you need to bring is 1) Your Passport, 2) Current Visa /if non EU/,3) Document that proves your residence in the UK.

What is a National Insurance Number?

A National Insurance Number (NIN) is allocated to you for you to use in all your dealings with the Inland Revenue and the Department for Work and Pensions. This number allows you to work, pay taxes, open a bank account, and use public health services in the UK. Also, by having this number, you will NOT have to pay the maximum 44% Emergency tax on your earnings, but you will be charged at a lower rate. Anyone wishing to work in the UK must register to obtain this number.

Do I need to find a place to live before I arrive in In the UK?

No. You can simply order our Flat Finder Service and we will take care of this for you. As soon as you arrive we will show you as many flats as you need to find the one that fits your taste and budget. Getting accommodation you like makes all the difference than pre-arranging for a place you don’t like but need to put up with because you have already paid! In the meantime we will place you in a temporary accommodation that will be booked and ready for you upon your arrival so you can go there directly from the airport.

What is a Tax Savers’ Pack

Can I start looking for a job before I arrive in the UK?

Yes. You can start to look for a job while you are in your home country, but you will most likely not have a job secured before your arrival. Typically, people start sending their CVs to different UK job websites about one week before they arrive in the UK. If you plan to do this, please note that is important to put your UK mobile phone number, correct email address, and arrival date on your CV. This way UK employers will have the correct details to contact you after you’ve arrived in the UK.

Do I need a UK mobile phone number / how do I get one?

You will need and want a UK mobile number for employers and also as a way to have your friends and family contact you in the UK. The easiest way to obtain a UK mobile number before you arrive in the UK is with our QuickStart Banking Plus Pack. This package includes a UK mobile SIM card with free credit included. Once you purchase this package, we will email you with your UK mobile number so you can use this number on your CV and give it out to friends and family before you even leave your home country. As soon as you arrive in London, simply come to the QuickStart UK office and we will give you your UK SIM card and help you setup your mobile phone to use in the UK.

How much money will I need for the first month I arrive

You will need basic set-up costs and enough for monthly expenses. Approximate costs below.
Accommodation – 270GBP a month +approximately 200GBP deposit (you will get this deposit back when you move out of the flat)
Please note these prices vary depending on the location of the accommodation
Food – 180GBP /month
Transport – 83 GBP/month
You will therefore need a minimum of 730 GBP upon arrival. This is an approximate estimate so please plan according to your individual needs.

How do I get from the airport into London City Centre?

London has 3 main airports that you may land into upon arrival; Please check with your airline what airport you will be landing at:
If you arrive into Heathrow airport, the fastest way to get to London Paddington is the Heathrow Express. Please check www.heathrowexpress.co.uk
Another way to get to town is using the London Underground Piccadilly Line – which is also the cheapest and most frequent one;
To get to London from Gatwick airport – the fastest way to travel to London Victoria is the Gatwick Express – please check www.gatwickexpress.com;
If you are landing into Stanstead airport the quickest way to get to London's Liverpool Street is the Stanstead Express Train – for information please check www.stanstedexpress.co.uk;
